troubadour Dan Coyle has released a six song ep, The Undertow. This
album marks the first time Coyle has included full band compositions on
an album. Each track is featured first in its solo acoustic format. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE NEW YORK -- Dan Coyle, an internationally touring singer songwriter from New York City, has revamped his style for The Undertow. Coyle assembled a group of talented musicians from across the US and Europe to perform the songs on this new album. While anticipation for The Undertow grew from fans on twitter (@dan_coyle) and Coyle's facebook fan page, music critics offered glimpses into this latest work weeks before its official release. "There is something to be said about the untold pleasures of one man and his guitar. It's risky because there is no safety net. The latest by Dan Coyle is a supreme example of how to get it done. Nothing more than a heartfelt lyric, an emotional voice and a simple backing of an acoustic guitar. Beautiful," noted Lewis English on his music blog. Most of the buzz has centered on Back Around, the first track on the album. The Spill music blog said of Back Around, "This is a big-time song from an NYC journeyman." While Earworms music blog added, "This is the best thing I've heard for a while. I love the line 'Sketch me how you see me and you know that I can come to life in front of you.' Wonderful writing."
